Lori Borthwick is running for Municipal Council in Ward One because she believes strong communities are built on care—for one another, for the future, and for the environment we all share. A Bay of Quinte resident since 1989, Lori has spent more than 30 years caring for others as a respiratory therapist.

Through her work in healthcare, she has seen first hand how much strong, compassionate communities matter—and how important it is to listen, to help, and to stand up for what people need. That same sense of care has guided her commitment to protecting the natural spaces that make this region such a wonderful place to call home.

Lori has been a dedicated advocate for wetlands, biodiversity, climate action, and the preservation of local green spaces, and she believes that caring for the environment is part of caring for one another.Through her work with community and conservation efforts, she has supported practical action to protect local wildlife, strengthen climate resilience, and help leave a healthier future for generations to come.

Lori is bringing that experience, heart, and determination to her campaign for Ward One, with a vision for thoughtful growth, healthy neighbourhoods, and local leadership that is approachable, respectful, and rooted in service. She wants Ward One residents to know they will have someone at the council table who listens, cares, and will work hard to protect the community they love.
